New top level domain names aren’t exactly flying off registrar’s shelves.
They face decades of head start from .com and county code domains, universal accessibility challenges, and problems getting slotted in registrar search results.
That’s bad enough, but some registries are giving the new domains an even bigger black eye.

.OOO runs another full page, front page journal ad -
They’re spending big bucks, but they’ll have to back it up with results rather than just lies and predictions.
Last month I wrote about Infibeam, the company behind the new domain name .ooo, and its front page ad on the Times of India.
It has returned with another front page ad – including the inside front page.
The inside page of the ad, which you can see here, talks about Infibeam’s vision for the domain name.

New top level domain pays for front page impact.
The backers of the new .ooo domain name have crazy predictions for how many domain names they’ll sell. I’ll tip my hat to them for at least backing it up with some crazy advertising.
Indian e-commerce company Infibeam took out the entire front page of the Times of India today as an ad. Every “fake” article on the page is about domain names and e-commerce, with a play on “ooo” in the headline.
