NetNames: 33% Have No Idea What A New gTLD is; 62% Have No Plans To Register One - NetNames, a online brand protection and domain name management specialist, released the results of a poll of 100 business directors in UK enterprises (minimum turnover of £5 million) on domain names and the new gTLD’s. 3 More New gTLD Withdraw; .Inc, .Ltd and .Mail - 3 More new gTLD applications have been withdrawn on the ICANN site. C.V. Radix Withdraws New gTLD Application For .Movie - Radix which had applied for 31 new gTLD’s has withdrawn its application for the new gTLD .Movie. Radix application for .Movie had a prioritization number of 592. There are 7 other applicants for the .movie new gTLD including Google, Amazon, Famous Four, Straat Investments which is associated with the .Co registry,  Donuts and Dish Network. Sedo: 63% Unaware of New gTLD’s; 94% Not Planning On Purchasing One - Sedo.com published a New gTLD Research Report last month and I don’t see that anyone reported on it. TLDH Withdrawing 4 New gTLD Applications: .Free; .Sale; .Spa; .Zulu - According to a press release we received this morning, The Board of Directors of Top Level Domain Holdings (AIM:TLDH) issued an update to its new gTLD application with the biggest news out of the release is that it is withdrawing 4 of its new gTLD application TLDH announced that is decided to withdraw its application for .Free; .Sale; .Spa; .Zulu. NAF Sets URS Fees $375-$500 Per Complaint & $400 For Domain Holder - The National Arbitration Forum, (NAF) has just released its proposed Supplemental Rules for Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) , including complainant fees that range from $375 – $500 depending on number of domains involved. The fee for the domain holder who gets hit with a URS is $400 if the complaint is for more than 16 domain names. .Bloomingdales Becomes 45th WIthdrawn New gTLD Application - Macy’s Inc. just withdrew its new gTLD application for .Bloomingdales with ICANN. The application had a prioritization number of 1150 and becomes the 45th new gTLD application to be withdrawn. The .Bloomingdales registry was going to be operated on a  closed basis. 1&1 Owner of Mail.com Withdraws Application For New gTLD .Mail - 11 Mail Media GmbH, whose parent company is United Internet AG, just withdrew its application to operate the new gTLD  .Mail. The GAC Puts The Brakes on Hundreds of New gTLD Applications Including Closed Generics - The GAC issued Its Advice from the ICANN meeting in Beijing and its a long one. The very long list effecting hundreds of applications which is going to push back the program for some time and may shut the door on all closed generic applications unless the company can show issuing  the close generic to one company is in the “public good”.
