New Golden State Warriors locus to be Chase Center - Chase registers domain names for new Golden State Warriors arena in San Francisco.
It looks like the new arena to house the Golden State Warriors will be called the Chase Center.
The NBA basketball team is slated to move back to San Francisco in a couple years. On Friday, JP Morgan Chase Co registered a number of domain names that suggest it is buying naming rights to the new stadium.

After winning UDRP, Denver Nuggets let DenverNuggets.com domain name expire -
Denver’s NBA team fought hard for domain name but then dropped the ball.
After going through the effort to win the domain name DenverNuggets.com in a UDRP, the NBA team has failed to renew the domain name.
It now points to an expired domain parked page including ads for Denver Nuggets tickets. [Update: the Nuggets have renewed the domain name.]

Philadelphia 76ers buy Sevens.com from Warren Royal for new D-League franchise -
Domain investor sells domain name for new development league team.
Yesterday the Philadelphia 76ers NBA team announced that it acquired the operating rights for a team in the National Basketball Association Development League.
The team will play in Delaware and be called the Delaware 87ers. Their nickname will be the “Sevens”.

The NBA is among the end user buyers on Sedo last week.
Sedo had a pretty good week last week for selling domains to end users.
A key highlight is the NBA, which bought a .in domain for just shy of $5,000. Here’s the list:
Swiss company PUBLICS bought Publics.ch for EUR 850. Its main web site is PublicsPartner.ch, so this is a big improvement. I wonder if it’s also the company that paid EUR 15,000 for Partners.eu, which is still in escrow.

Are you ready for .baseball?
The United States’ three biggest professional sports leagues have applied to ICANN to run their own top level domains.
As I predicted, Major League Baseball applied for .MLB. It also applied for .baseball. It will face a play-off with .baseball though, as Donuts Inc also applied for the domain. Donuts is the largest new TLD applicant, and submitted the application through its Silver Pass, LLC company.
