GoDaddy says there's still upside for registrars and domain investors - Most very small businesses don’t have websites yet, but many plan to create one.
GoDaddy released results from a global survey today, showing that the vast majority of very small businesses (5 or fewer employees) still don’t have a website.
The survey included 4,000 businesses in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Mexico, United Kingdom and the United States.
59% of businesses said they don’t have a website. The upside: 55% report they intend to create a website in the next two years.

Individuals and companies registered 1,659 .domains domain names in the first hours after the domain entered regular-price general availability yesterday. I’d group the purchases in five groups:

New TLD .domains launches tomorrow.
Starting tomorrow you’ll be able to register .domains domains.
Seriously: anything.domains will be up for grabs.
The Early Access Program phase for Donuts’ top level domain .domains starts on March 5. A week later, on March 12, .domains domains will be available at standard pricing of around $30-$40.
I’m curious what types of domains will be registered in this namespace. I’m sure some registrars will participate.
