R.I.P. DNForum, 2001-2016 - DNForum has been offline for a week.
I’m calling it: DNForum is dead.
What was once the industry’s go-to place to discuss domain names has been down for a week. I’ve tried to contact forum owner Adam Dicker about it over Skype, but I have not heard back.
Dan Gessler founded DNForum in 2001. Domain name investor Greg Ricks purchased the forum from Gessler about a year later, and then Adam Dicker acquired it from Ricks.
DNForum used to be the place people went to get deals done, and there was ... read more ...

Adam Dicker’s video blog is value checking out -
A great resource for new and old domainers alike.
I’m not a big fan of video, especially when the message can be conveyed in writing.
It’s why I always read the transcripts at DomainSherpa instead of watching the videos. It’s a lot faster.
That said, I think Adam Dicker’s new video blog is worth checking out.
Dicker has a long history in the domain industry. He’s best known as the owner of DNForum. But he also worked at iREIT and Go Daddy.
Each video covers ... read more ...

DNForum Now Easier to Access on a Road -
Forum releases mobile apps for quicker and better access away from the desktop.
Earlier this week DNForum released apps for iPhone and iPad devices. A couple weeks ago it released an app for Android users.
The app makes it easier to read and respond to posts and check personal messages from your mobile device.
Apps for all platforms are priced around $5.
Screenshots of the app from the Android market show that it is based on a mobile version of forum software vBulletin.

Adam Dicker Dishes on Domain Industry and DNForum -
DNForum founder discusses the state of domain investing and his popular forum.
I last interviewed DNForum owner Adam Dicker over five years ago. A lot has changed in the domain industry since then, so I thought it would be a good time to connect again.
DNW: Bring readers up to speed on how big the forum is now in terms of users, visitors, etc.
Adam: Dnforum.com is now up to about 106,000 members and that number grows by over 250 each day. We have over 1.7 million ... read more ...

Survey: DNForum is Best Domain Name Forum -
Rating the top domain name forums.
DNForum is the best domain name forum, according to a survey of 500 domain owners in the 5th Annual Domain Name Wire Survey.
37% of respondents who have visited a domain forum selected DNForum as the best. In the five years of the survey, DNForum has been selected top forum four times.
DNForum is owned by Adam Dicker, who until recently was also a vice president with GoDaddy. Now that he is unchained from full-time duty, you ... read more ...

Survey Focus: Which Domain Name Forum is Best? -
Cast your vote for the best domain name forum.
For many years, there have been two major domain forums, DNForum and NamePros. Behind that were a number of smaller forums. While that remains true, some shakeup is in progress. DomainState, a smaller forum, has been put on the auction block. Hopefully DomainState, which has a very different audience and feel than the larger forums, sticks around. It seems that bidding interest is high.
But which domain forum is ... read more ...

Survey: DNForum Tops NamePros -
DNForum barely tops NamePros in survey.
A survey of 401 domainers says that DNForum is the best domain name forum — but just barely. Of the survey participants who selected a choice, 47% voted for DNForum and 42% voted for NamePros. DomainState came in third with 11%, and AcornDomains received 2%.
But other than deciding which forum is “best”, there are some other relevant questions that I’d like your feedback on.
Are domain forums as relevant for discussion ... read more ...

360.org Sells for $25,500 -
360.org domain was purchased for only $2,000 a year ago.
Sedo has completed the sale of 360.org for $25,500. The seller is likely to be familiar to people on DNForum, as active member “Acro” (Theo Develegas) flipped this domain for about a dozen times what he paid for it.
On his blog Acro.net, he details the negotiation process and how he’s thankful he didn’t sell the domain earlier. He listed the domain with a $6,000 reserve at a TRAFFIC auction, but the ... read more ...
