Earlier this week I noted a lawsuit Verisign filed in Virginia against .XYZ and Daniel Negari. Thanks to a request by the defendants to remove the case to federal district court, I now have a copy of the lawsuit (large PDF).
As it turns out, Verisign originally sued Key Brand Entertainment, applicant for .Theatre, and CentralNic back in March in Circuit Court in Fairfax County. The basis of the lawsuit was ... read more ...

Is .xyz’s selling wrong, intelligent or both? -
Inflated numbers will result in more mainstream press mentions.
A lot has been written over the past couple weeks about .xyz and its so-called “sham” registrations.
Network Solutions is giving away free .xyz domain names and is not even requiring account holders to affirm that they want the domain names. This is drastically inflating the number of registered .xyz domain names.
As a result, .xyz is at the top of the new TLD charts. It has over 100,000 registrations. ... read more ...

No Justin Bieber bashing in new .xyz domain name -
Be careful what content you post at JustBieberDruggie.xyz.
The .XYZ top level domain name has published its launch policies, and it includes perhaps the most off-the-wall restriction of any new TLD to date:
No Bieber-bashing.
Oprah, too.
Page 22 of the policy states that abusive and forbidden uses of .xyz names include:
“illegal malicious and fraudulent defamation of Oprah Winfrey, Daniel Negari, or Justin Bieber”
Depending on how you look at generational dates, ... read more ...
