PondPumps.com Sells For $15K On Godaddy.com - In a Godaddy auction that just ended a hour ago, the domain name PondPumps.com sold for $15,671.
I was in the auction until about $7K then dropped out.
Its a nice product domain, but with less than 50 visitors a month (according to Godaddy) I think the domain sold closer to a retail price, rather wholesale, which is what we hope to buy at in a domain auction.
We congratulate the buyer, and and send out a “what the hell were you thinking” to the domain holder that didn’t spend $8 to renew the ... read more ...

NY Post Rips Godaddy On Its Drop Auction & Its Backorder Program - The New York post today has a story ripping Godaddy.com process of charging customers $18.99 to “backorder” an expired domain and then placing the domain into auction once it “drops”.
First we have to note that absolutely nothing new is going on that the NY Post is complaining about.
Godaddy for years has had a program were you can backorder any domain, for which is now $18.99 per domain. If the domain was not at Godaddy or one of its affiliated registrars it would simply try to get the ... read more ...

Then there are thousands of other companies whose name can be shortened to MEC like, Mayville Engineering, and Manga Entertainment, any of which may have been the ... read more ...

Geraldo.com Sells On NameJet.com For $15K, What Would You Do With It? - The domain name Geraldo.com sold today on NameJet.com for $14,888.
The domain according to Alexa and Compete.com has traffic
Alexa ranks it between 1.5M 2M and Compete says its gets around 2K visitors a month.
However a look at Alexa reveals that 48% of the people visiting the site are looking for info on Geraldo Rivera, and another 20% are looking for info about one of his shows.
So the question is was this a good buy and what would you do with it if you bought it?

Why Sex.com May Not Sell In The Foreclosure Auction - As Elliot’s Blog discovered yesterday, the domain Sex.com is heading to a foreclosure auction on March 18th.
However, just because the domain name is heading to auction, it doesn’t mean the domain is going to sell.
For one this is not an absolute auction where the highest bidder gets the domain.
Rather, the auction notice, clearly states that the secured party, reportedly Domain Capital, has the right to place a bid equal to what it is owed on the debt including principal and interest, plus ... read more ...
