Who At Oversee.net Thought That GirlTalk.com Was Worth More Than Girl.com? - A reader looking through the extended Domainfest auction list that closes On Thursday noticed these 2 domains back to back on the auction list. One benefit of the extended auctions on Snap Vs. the live auctions is that the reserves are stated in exact dollars amounts not ranges. Now that the actual reserves are listed, it looks like someone may have given one name a little too much credit by accepting the 1st name on the list with that reserve price for sale. With over 3 days to go the high bid sits at $12,505. What makes this an interesting one, is that the site on the domain was a popular tech blog which was covered by Technorati.com which had to say about it: “””Rich Internet Applications are all the rage these days – Ajax, Silverlight, Flex and Apollo are making headlines. This blog goes beyond the buzz to showcase what companies are doing, ... read more ...

Over $150K In Domains Sold On Sedo On Christmas Day - When I tell people that domaining is a 365 day a year business and I’m on the computer every day of the year including Christmas and New Years they usually give me that, I don’t believe you look, but today Sedo.com racked up $150K in Sales on Christmas day. Leading the pack was the $100K bid on QWE.com, which we talked about several days ago when we noticed the it. Next up was a hyphenated domain  Luxury-Hotels.com which sold for $17,500. Definitely a nice pop for that domain. Talking about ... read more ...

Is QWE.com Really Going to Sell For $100,000 Or More? That’s The High Bid At Sedo.com - The three letter domain name QWE.com is at auction at Sedo.com and has a $100,000 opening bid. Since the auction still has over 6 days to run it looks to me like this could have been one of those offers pushed to auction situation, however I see nothing exceptional about the domain QWE, except there is a product called the Q-Barcode which is using QWE.net as it site. So this could be another case of a domain upgrade which I discussed the other night in a post. Remember OMG.com sold just about a year ... read more ...

CreditCheck.Org Sells For $31K At SnapNames.com - The domain name CreditCheck.org sold today for $31K at SnapNames.com today. The domain was a pure drop domain and seemed to be owned by a company, CreditResearchInc. I guess that company needed to do some more research to figure out why they let a gem like that one drop rather than pony up the $20 renewal fee. In any event I can revel that I was on the losing end of the auction when I stopped bidding at $30K. Congrats to the bidder “piety” who won the auction as I had sessions to attend at ICANN. Belly.com Hits $50K in NameJet Bidding But It May Not Be Enough - Although the auction doesn’t close until later today,  bidding on the domain name Belly.com has already hit $50K. However the domain has not hit reserve. So far there are 3 different bidders on the domain since $34K. Personally I think $50k its a pretty high number for the domain not to have hit reserve in an auction which appeals to mostly a wholesale industry It will be interesting to see where this one winds up and if the high bidder hits reserve.
