Hillary Clinton Used Her Own Domain to Conduct Communications - The Washington Post and New York Times covered a story on former First Lady Hillary Clinton and the domain name ClintonEmail.com. It seems that on the day of her Senate hearings she registered the domain name ClintonEmail.com. This is important because only official government email accounts have their content retained under the Federal Records Act.

EasyGroup Owner of Easy Jet Found Guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking - EasyGroup Limited of London which owns Easy Jet, was just found guilty of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking (RNDH) on the domain name easygroup.com from Easy Group Holdings Limited of Kowloon, Hong Kong,
The three member UDRP panel split in its decision, as panelist Jane Lambert did not agree in the finding of RDNH.

Yahoo Search Share Dips for February -
Danny Sullivan discussed the February search share stats on Search Engine Land. Yahoo dipped after posting gains in the previous two months. The dip wasn’t that big but the company had some good momentum going over the previous two months. The data from StatCounter shows:

Yahoo: 10.1% (-0.1%)
Bing: 9.8% (+0.1%)

ConnectingNYC.org releases some statistics on Dot Nyc -
ConnectingNyc.org posted an article on the status of how things are doing so far with the Dot Nyc extension. The article went on to say there were two ways to measure the success of an extension. The number of new gtld registrations stood at approximately 3.7 million to close out 2014. Our poll question for March is where do you see that number for 2015 ?
The poll just went up and we did provide for choices that would show a contraction, so far half of the very small sample size has voted that way. Jeffrey Sass Talks Dot Club and a formula of the Dot App Poll - In an article by Laurie Sullivan on Media Post which discussed Google paying $25 million for .app, there was also some commentary from Jeffrey Sass about .club. Sass explained how the pricing works at the wholesale and retail level. He gave a little shout out to Credit.club, the $10.99 hand registration that Bruce Marler was able to jump on. Sass mentioned Credit.club as an example that new gtlds have proven their ability to rank in the serps.

The MPAA Would Like to Help ICANN set process in targeting Pirate Domains - In an article on Torrent Freak it seems that the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) is in bed with ICANN and is trying to use that relationship to shape certain policies. These policies center on the handling of domain names used by sites that infringe intellectual property.

Google Decides To Reverse Ban of Sexually Explicit Material on Blogger -
Well that was quick. We wrote earlier this week about Google banning pornography and sexually explicit material on Blogger. Well today the company posted on its product forums website that the decision has been reversed. Instead the company will step up enforcement against those that do not mark their blogs as adult content and those who may try to use the platform to sell porn.

Google Wins The new gTLD .APP For $25 Million - The new gTLD .APP sold for $25 Million to Google today in a ICANN Last Resort Auction which I think is very good news for the new gTLD program in general.
This is the highest price paid in an ICANN Last Resort Auction.
It looks like Google was willing to pay over $30 Million based on the info published by ICANN today
The previously high price paid for a new gTLD in an ICANN Last Resort Auction was $6,760,000 which was paid by Radix for .Tech.

Melbourne IT Acquires Uber Global For Over $12 Million: Australian Cloud Services Co & Domain Registrar - Melbourne IT agreed to acquire the third largest Australian based cloud services provider Uber Global for $15.5 million AU (approximately $12.2 million USD) which also owns a ICANN Accredited domain name registrar.

Marchex's Archeo Revenue $14.5M In 2014; Horowitz Steps Down As CEO; Pete Christothoulou Takes Over - Marchex (MCHX) reported its earnings for the 4th Quarter and the full year of 2014, after the market closed today and also announced that Russell Horowitz who has been the CEO of the company for the last 12 years is stepping down as CEO but will remain on the board.
