Patent goblin goes after GoDaddy in latest suit -
GoDaddy joins the likes of Google and Yahoo as defendants in cloud storage patent troll lawsuits.
A non-practicing entity, a.k.a. patent troll, has filed a lawsuit against GoDaddy for allegedly infringing some of its cloud storage patents.
The suit, filed yesterday in Federal District Court in Texas, claims that GoDaddy infringed two of Titanide Ventures, LLC’s patents (pdf).

National Arbitration Forum Says Cases Are Up 18% From 2009 But Down 4% From 2010 - In a press release today the The National Arbitration Forum (NAF), “announced that a total of 2,082 cases were filed in its domain name dispute resolution program in 2011, up 18% from 2009 (1,759 cases) and down 4% from 2010 (2,177 cases). ”
“Since the NAF first case in 1999, nearly 18,000 cases have been filed as of the end of 2011.”

Norcross is a city in Georgia whose official site is Norcrossga.net
Norcross.com is a parked page and returns results for mostly hotels and other travel links in Georgia which shouldn’t be a problem.
Norcross.com is owned by Marchex (Nasdaq: MCHX)
The UDRP was filed on March 30, 2011 and was assigned the case number, 1437030.
The complainant is not listed as of now.

Yahoo Fires 2,000 or 15% of Its Workforce - Yahoo has just announced that it is firing another 2,000 people in a continuing restructuring effort.
“Today’s actions are an important next step toward a bold, new Yahoo! — smaller, nimbler, more profitable and better equipped to innovate,” the company said in a statement.
According to Yahoo, it has around 14,000 employees so a loss of 2,000 employees represents a little more than 15% of its workforce.
The move will save it approximately $375 million.

Why Can’t ICANN Operate Like Mega Millions & Give Us A Date & TIME For The Big Reveal - In teasing us with a date for the big reveal for new gTLD applicants ICANN has left off something pretty important.
The time.
While announcing the April 30th as the date for the big reveal, they didn’t announce at time or even which time zone they would be using.
ICANN typically works off of UTC time zone which at this time of the year is 4 hours ahead of EST so midnight April 30th is really 8 PM EST April 29th.
