Domain name for controversial “Climategate” sells.
Have you heard about the so-called “ClimateGate” yet? It has been all the buzz in the worldwide media over the past few weeks. It basically involves some not-so-ethical scientists trying to massage climate data to fit their needs.

Freedom of Speech: a Concept Not Limited to Yankees -
by Paul Keating
I have been increasingly frustrated with the apparent continuous attempts by panelists to find ways to grant UDRPs involving gripe sites. While unable to make much headway in UDRPs involving US respondents, panelists have regularly eroded the concept of free speech using domain names finding in many cases that the concept is “limited†to the US. The result is that the “US†approach is no longer a clear majority view.

Contacting a Big Company That Owns a .Net Domain Name -
Can a good domain name sales technique to small businesses work with a big one?
In August I wrote about a successful end user domain sales strategy I’ve employed. Basically, you look up domains you registered a couple years ago to see if anyone has registered the .net, .org, or other version of the .com domain you registered. Presumably they wanted the .com, but settled for something else because you already owned it. These people are very targeted buyers for ... read more ...

Google Public DNS Could Be Data Treasure Trove for Google -
Google DNS is a big deal.
Google announced today that it is launching Google Public DNS, a free DNS resolver that promises to speed up the web. This is a big deal for web site owners and domainers. Here’s why.
1. Google may have just killed OpenDNS. OpenDNS does effectively the same thing Google hopes to do with its DNS. OpenDNS (which I personally use) makes money by showing ads when you type in a domain that doesn’t exist. This is similar to what Verizon ... read more ...
