Top Level Design wins .design row set -
Hotly contested top level domain name goes to Portland company.
The .design top level domain name will be run, fittingly, by Top Level Design.
Top Level Design beat out six other applicants in a private auction to win the domain. Given the number of applicants, I suspect the final price for the domain was near a high water mark.

Donuts wins .photography auction -
Donuts won the private auction for the .photography top level domain name.
Of the six new top level domain name auctions Donuts participated in this past week, the company walked away with at least one top bid.
Domain Name Wire has confirmed that Donuts won the auction for .photography. It was in contention with Top Level Design, a company that applied for ten top level domains.
Top Level Design is lead by Ray King, who co-founded drop catching service SnapNames.

SnapNames co-founder Ray King behind registry requesting for 10 tip turn domains -
King’s latest venture applies for ten top level domains.
Raymond King, the co-founder of SnapNames (later bought by Oversee.net and then KeyDrive) and founder of AboutUs, Inc., is applying for 10 top level domain names through his new company Top Level Design, LLC.
King has partnered with early stage investor Peter Brual, who doesn’t appear to have a background in the domain industry but is an advisor at AboutUs.
