Scammer sends fake renewal notices with goal of getting your credit card information.
ICANN may have shut down Domain Registry of America for now, but new scams pop up just about every day.
Joseph Peterson sent one example to me today that I haven’t seen before.

Domain name appraisal scam moves to a new domain name.
I’m getting tired of writing these articles. But every time I do, a number of people searching for this stumble upon it, so I figure it saves some people from falling for the scam.

Domain Scam: US Copyright Registry -
Another scam is making its rounds. Stay alert.
I just received an email to my whois address with an official-looking notice from the so-called “US Copyright Registry”. Looks official, sounds official, but it isn’t. It’s just the latest scam to target domain name owners.
The notice reads in part:
Please be advised that the above noted website has not been protected and is now available for copyright registration
