.Org Adds 130K Registrations, Tops 10.5 Million: Registrants In China Own 3.2% - Public Interest Registry, the not-for-profit operator of the .org, .ngo and .ong domains, today released the results of its bi-annual domain name report “The Dashboard.”
The .Org domain name extension, added 130,865 additional registrations over the last 12 months, bringing the total domains under management (DUM) to 10,547,247.

.NGO/.ONG Launches Today For Non-Profits: New gTLD's Done Right: Here is What You Need To Know - The Public Interest Registry (PIR) which operates the .Org domain name extension, is launching .NGO and .ONG today into general availability for Non-profit, non governmental organizations.
The new gTLD domain name extension go live at 8pm EST tonight to be registered on a first come, first served basis.

PIR (.Org Registry) Offers New IDN Domains In Three Strings - According to a press release Public Interest Registry (PIR) – the not-for-profit operator of the .org domain registry, today announced the general availability of three new Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) which translate to “organisation” or “institution” in non-Latin-based scripts – one in Devanagari, one in Cyrillic, and one in simplified Chinese.

PIR Survey Says .Org Trusted, But Let’s Look during a Numbers -
.Org is more trusted by the public.
Public Interest Registry released the results of a 1,000 person survey today about trust and top level domain names.
Not surprisingly, .org was named the “most “trusted†site for information” more often than other top level domain names. If a company or organization were to publish identical information across .org, .com, .info, and .net, 41% named .org as most trusted and 22% .com. 25% said they trust all domains equally.
