Neustar Racks Up 358 Applications Including .NYC; How Did They Beat Verisign? We Know - Neustar,  today announced that it has been selected as the registry services provider for 358 applications for new generic Top-Level domains (gTLDs). including the City of New York as the registry service provider to manage the application process and operate .nyc. We reported back in March that Neustar had guaranteed the city of New York $3.6 Million dollars to get the contract. ICANN Batching Starts Jun 8th Results Announced Jul 11th - ICANN made the announcement overnight that batching will start on June 8th just after midnight UTC time and close right before midnight June 28th UTC time. The results of batching will be released on July 11, 2012, all times and  dates are “target” dates and therefore could be changed. Donuts Inc. Applies For 307 New gTLD’s & Raises More Than $100 Million - According to a Press Release Donuts Inc, applied for  307 New gTLD’s by far the most of any company that has announced so far. At last report ICANN had received over 1,900 new gTLD applications,  so Donuts, Inc. would represent around 15% of all applications. The 307 applications means that Donuts spent $60 Million just in application fees payable to ICANN. Donuts Inc. is going to use Demand Media, Inc. (DMD) for its back end registry services. Pool.com Gets Competition On Its Digital Archery Service As Digital Archery Experts Rolls Out - According to a press release I just received it appears Pool.com now has a competitor in the ICANN Digital Archery batching service for new gTLD applicants. “Digital Archery Experts (DAE) is pleased to release its digital archery service designed to secure new gTLD applicants a first batch position in the ICANN secondary time stamp competition.” The fee  is $20,000 which has to be paid upfront but will be “retained ONLY if we succeed in qualifying a client’s string for the batch one” Pool.com ... read more ...

Breaking: Dot-Nxt Conference Postponed - The Dot-Nxt conference organizers have just announced that it is postponing is conference, that was schedule for June 20th-22nd in London until the 3rd or 4th. The conference was suppose to be held the week prior to the ICANN Conference in Prague. The delay was blamed on ICANN and delay on the TAS system and the date for the “Big Reveal” which still has not been set by ICANN. ICANN: After The TAS Mess Only 2 Request for Refunds - A few weeks ago during the TAS outage, ICANN issued a statement saying that anyone who applied for a new gTLD or paid to enter the TAS system could pull their application or authorization and get a full refund of any money paid. Today in a Twitter chat, I asked ICANN how many people requested a refund under this program.
