There seems to be some discrepancy on just how much money it costs for Google to make their Google Glass product.

Given the current price of $1,500 for Google Glass, how much could the tech giant make? A new analysis estimates that the actual materials cost just under $80, indicating the tech giant could really be raking in the cash. Google May Have To Pay French Government $1.3 Billion -
Forbes reported that Google could have to pay the French government up to $1.3 billion.
The Silicon Valley Journal wrote:
Mountain View-based Google said it has been hit with a tax assessment from French authorities that could cost between $693 million and $1.3 billion, according to Forbes.

Matt Cutts Answers How To Research A Domain Before Buying -
Matt Cutts got a doubt now from someone who purchased a domain name and afterwards found out a domain had been in difficulty with Google. The domain is not now indexed and a new owners has to do a reconsideration request.
Matt points out stairs to check to see if a domain had problems in a past, like if used for spam.

Google Reports: Paid Clicks Up 26%, Cost-Per-Click Drops 9%, Stock Down After Hours -
Google reported it earnings after the market closed today for the quarter ending ending March 31
Google had $15.4 billion in revenue.
Net income was $3.45 billion, which amounted to earnings of $5.04 a share, or $6.27 a share excluding one-time charges.

Google has changed its terms of service when it comes to Gmail. Reuters is out with the news,
(Reuters) – Google Inc updated its terms of service on Monday, informing users that their incoming and outgoing emails are automatically analyzed by software to create targeted ads.

Google Acquires Drone Maker That Facebook Was Eyeing -
Todd Wasserman is reporting for Mashable that Google has purchased Titan Aerospace, a 20 person drone maker that Facebook was also interested in purchasing. There were no financial terms on the deal released on the acquisition. Apparently Facebook was interested to the tune of $60 million.
Google has purchased Titan Aerospace, a maker of drones that Facebook was reportedly interested in buying as well.

Google Extends “Not Provided” to Paid Search -
Google is making a change that will bring paid search in line with organic search when it comes to relaying referrer information. Now when people using secure search click on AdWords ads, they will not have their search query show up in the referrer string, this info will no longer be available in analytics packages and third party providers of related software.

Hello.com domain name transferred.
It appears Google has sold the domain name Hello.com.
The company used the domain name for a photo sharing service called “Hello” last decade. It later shut down the standalone service and eventually stopped using the domain name.

There is a lot of buzz around Google and their attempt to trademark the word glass.

Apple, Yahoo and Google All Reserve The Right To Read Your Email - So there was a story out this week that Microsoft had read the emails of a French blogger who had received code from a former Microsoft employee, the employee has been arrested in Seattle, accused of leaking Windows 8 to the tech blogger.
The blogger actually contacted Microsoft to verify what was going on, Microsoft then went through his hotmail and messenger and found the email from the former employee.

Desktop Advertising to Drop $1.4 billion in 2014 as Search becomes some-more mobile - eMarketer released a report today that estimates desktop advertising to drop by $1.4 billion while mobile search will increase over 82 % in 2014. Of course Google has been talking about this in their earnings reports for the last couple years. This is certainly not great news for domain investors who park their domains, as mobile clicks pay less than desktop clicks. Google Scrapping Banner Ad Experiment - Harrison Weber is reporting on Venture Beat and Ginn Marvin is reporting on Marketing Land, that Google is going to scrap its banner ad experiment. Google started showing banner ads last October which sparked many to become upset as Google had long promised not to show banner ads in search results.

Google Starting To Show Full Restaurant Menu in Search Results -
Another potential risk with very specific niche gtlds is that something can come along and change the game. Something that has nothing to do with domain names can still come along and affect the niche extension.
