DotAsia to Get Internationalized Domain Names -
Non-latin characters coming to .asia.
ICANN Senior Vice President of Services Kurt Pritz has notified (pdf) DotAsia Organisation LTD that it is granting permission to start offering internationalized domain names on .asia.
In the letter, Pritz praised DotAsia for its “leadership in promoting the coordination of the domain-name system in the public interest.”

DotAsia Asks for Fee Discount from ICANN -
DotAsia joins the sTLD fee reduction bandwagon.
DotAsia Organisation Ltd., which operates the .asia top level domain name, has requested that ICANN lower the fees DotAsia pays to ICANN.
DotAsia, a non-profit organization, currently pays a variable fee of 75 cents per domain name registered. It is requesting a 33% decrease to 50 cents per domain name.

Auction Shows Top .Asia Domain Names Not Worth Much -
.Asia auctions don’t give much promise for resale values.
If you invested in English-language .asia domain names, you probably haven’t seen much of a return on your investment. Five .asia auctions that closed at Sedo today didn’t add up to much:
