Online site builder makes creating .mobi-compliant web sites easy.
Any premium .mobi domain name owners worried about creating their .mobi web sites by the compliance deadline need not worry — they can make them in about 10 minutes with a free online tool.
I initially didn’t pay much attention to mobiSiteGalore, an online web site builder that builds mobi compliant web sites. But this week I saw an announcement that it now lets you create mobile web sites by using your mobile phone. Although that seems like a pain, I decided to check out their main service.
Think of mobiSiteGalore as the old Tripod but for mobile web sites. It makes creating a compliant web site that will work on all mobile phones incredibly easy.
For example, I created Allemann.mobi in less than 15 minutes from start to finish:
1. Registered Allemann.mobi at Moniker for $7.49*
2. Provisioned hosting*
2. Created account at mobiSiteGalore
3. Selected page types I wanted on the site
4. Inserted text and photos in WYSIWYG editor
5. Provided FTP information
6. Clicked submit
*You also can host the site as a subdomain on a shared service, skipping the first two steps.
That’s really it. The site looks pretty good, too. Since Allemann.mobi is just a simple personal site, I didn’t use a lot of the powerful features in the system, including the ability to add Google News headlines, Google Adsense, and various payment services. I did include a simple contact form.
mobiSiteGalore is free, but your web site will have a message at the bottom that reads “Like this website? Get one FREE at mobiSiteGalore.com”. Hopefully the service will offer a pay option to remove the advertisement.
If you have some .mobi domains sitting around, or have considered mobile site development, I recommend taking a look. Check out Allemann.mobi on your mobile phone for a simple example.

Andrew, just checked you out on your .mobi site, looks cool! and nice pic!
Again thanks for the heads up! I’m going to use the tool to develop NewyorkApartment.mobi and LondonApartment.mobi
If your .Mobi site is anything to go by, it actually looks so much better as a compliant website. The text are more vivid and no need to keep on zooming in and out on my iphone….hmmm I now wonder what other domainers would think!
Cheers!

Andrew! Domainnamewire.mobi is directing to your .com, its very hard to follow as a re-direct on the iphone. Can’t you make it default as a .mobi site?
Andrew says
Robert, .mobi redirects to .com because I have a plugin that converts .com to a mobile site. If you know of a program that will easily convert a wordpress blog on a separate domain (.mobi), let me know.

How does iphone fit in? Are the sites mobiSiteGalore makes good for iphones? I looked at the site and didn’t see any mention of iphones.
Andrew says
FX – wouldn’t you just use the .com site in an iPhone?
