Hallmark sees holiday traffic with generic type-in traffic. Big domainers get in on the action, too.
Talk about a good use of a fantastic generic domain name — Hallmark owns Easter.com, and is cashing in thanks to direct navigation traffic.
A visit to Easter.com forwards to Hallmark’s web site, where you’ll find a special section dedicated to Easter. Not only does owning this great domain result in more traffic for Hallmark, but it keeps it away from competitors.
But today is Good Friday, which means traffic to GoodFriday.com is surely peaking. GoodFriday.com is owned by Frank Schilling’s Name Administration.
I would think a religious organization would benefit greatly from acquiring the domain name. It could educate people about Good Friday — and steer them toward worship services.
Not be be left out, Scott Day’s Digimedia owns EasterSunday.com. It’s a customized parking page, but unfortunately it hasn’t been updated since 2008. It contains a message “Getting You Ready for Easter SundayMarch 23rd, 2008.”

Looks like someone at DigiMedia reads DNW, as the page now reads “Getting You Ready for Easter Sunday” and has a 2010 copyright notice.

I would think several atheist organizations might also be interested in purchasing the domain to point out the impact of Judeo-Christian beliefs on everything from commerce to societal perceptions.
There is always a secondary market.
