More than 50 of Sedo’s biggest customers join together for event at New York resort.
More than 50 customers of domain aftermarket and domain name parking company Sedo joined together in New York yesterday afternoon to kick of the second annual SedoPro Partner Forum. The group met at the Grand Hyatt in New York City, where it boarded three party buses for the 2 hour trip to the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York. The buses were stocked with cold beer to make the trip shorter.
Once checked in, visitors found a welcome basket waiting in their rooms. In addition to a few snacks, each basket included a bottle of Jonnie Walker Black Label Scotch Whiskey. Hopefully that forshadows a landmark sale of Whiskey.com later this week at the TRAFFIC conference.
After a half hour of rest and relaxation, attendees were treated to a New England style dinner with lobster and steak. During dinner, Sedo CEO Tim Schumacher welcomed the group and thanked his staff for pulling the event together. After closing down dinner attendees were invited to an open bar and poker game at the resort’s Carriage Lounge.
A quick look around the room at this event reminds you how global the domain industry is. Sedo is a German company. I’ve met people from the UK, Australia, Germany, and several other countries already. Many attendees will stay in New York for the week to attend the TRAFFIC conference that starts Tuesday.
Check back for continuing coverage of the SedoPro Partner Forum. Tomorrow’s events include a talk by Phil Corwin, a lawyer who has represented MP3.com, Kazaa, Pool.com, and the Internet Commerce Association, as well as a speed networking event.
