Sedo, one of the biggest and best domain name aftermarkets, announced that its sold 1,020 domains in May for a total of $1.7M. The average price of domains sold was $1,661.18. Of course, the median sale is better information…but Sedo doesn’t release that information.
Among Sedo’s big sales last month were Porker.com for $155,000, GLU.com for $75,000, and TextMessage.com for $35,000.
domain spec says
I cant see how they are selling 1000 domains in a month ie. avg 33/day.
From the daily “sold” board only about 10/day on avg. Surely the “other” sales cant all be non-discosure sales?
Sedo are in it for the PPC income – sales just so happen b/c people list with them.

Sedo doesn’t publish all of its sales on the site (in fact it only posts a handful). Most of the sales are under $1,000, with a few large ones pulling up the average. But you are correct, Sedo makes most of its money from PPC.
