Another strong week for Sedo sales.
Sedo finalized the sale of InsuranceLeads.com last week for $50,000. The leads business is huge, and insurance leads are one of the most popular categories. Leads companies gather leads from search engine marketing (including PPC) and affiliate networks and resell these to insurance agents, repair companies, real estate agents, etc. I think this will be a solid buy for ITSOL, a California-based leads company. An example of a big lead generation site is LendingTree.com.
I have a number of “leads.com” domains, although none are as good as InsuranceLeads.com. Over the past few years I’ve registered 529planleads.com, AirConditioningLeads.com, CarpetCleaningLeads.com, CounselorLeads.com, DWIleads.com, ExterminatorLeads.com, LimosineLeads.com, NutritionistLeads.com, and about a dozen others.
Other notable Sedo sales for the week include:
mutuelle.com 23,600 EUR Mutual in French
rewardsdirect.com 17,500 USD
converttube.com website 16,350 EUR
purecasino.com 13,000 USD

Are you able to sell your hot leads to a lead generation service who would then be able to re-sell them to their network? While you would lose a bit of margin, it might provide more income than PPC and you wouldn’t have to build your own network.

Elliot, I think these domains would be used to promote leads to the lead buyers. For example, CarpetCleaningLeads.com could be the sale page to carpet cleaning companies to buy leads.
I don’t think consumers will be excited about landing on a domain like this and providing their information.
I am, however, looking for a company that may want to sell 529 plan leads so I can integrate it into my 529 plan web site.

Looks like it was purchased by 2insure4less.com which is a pretty big insurance quote site. Seems like they will make insuranceleads.com/2insure4less.com similar to insuranceleadz.com/carinsurancerates.com. That way they control the consumer lead flow and the lead marketplace with insurance companies. Smart buy…

Insurance leads are expensive and this is a good business. Leads can go from $7 bucks for non exclusive to $30 for an exclusive lead. Depending if its home, auto life, or health.
Auto insurance clicks alone can go for $20.00 and up a click to be even in top 3 in google.
This is a good buy if they have the supply of high quality leads that they are already generating. A separate page geared toward insurance agents would best fit this.
This is the best possible name you can get for insurance agent leads.
