The much anticipated Sedo auctions went live today.
Sedo’s new auction format went live today. The auctions augment Sedo’s one-on-one negotiating interface.
The first batch of domains at auction include domains that people have received offers on and a batch of premium domains. These premium domains have a low starting price but a reserve. Sedo refers to the former as “marketplace auctions” and the latter as “brokerage initiated auctions”.
For example, reise-shop.com ends in a couple days and has a bid of 1,499 EUR with the reserve met. I suspect this was a domain someone recently received an offer for. The seller sent the domain to auction instead of just accepting or countering the offer. This is a marketplace auction.
Tractors.com, however, appears to be a brokerage initiated auction. Its current bid of $7,600 is below its reserve. Other brokerage initiated auctions include equipment.com, portals.com, janitors.com, and maid.com.
You can see a current list of auctions on Sedo’s home page.
