Sedo has added graphics next to auction domains to indicate levels of traffic.
The new graphics show a relative level of traffic for each domain by showing one to three bars in a column graph. A mouseover of the graphic shows the actual traffic level as calculated by Sedo.
In the example above, ChessShop.eu is not parked at Sedo, so there’s no traffic graphic. UKSprite.com received over 6,000 visitors in the past thirty days, so it has three bars. Rootube.com had only 25 visitors in thirty days and only shows one bar.
Buyers should beware when purchasing a domain based on parking page traffic. These numbers can easily be manipulated by sellers using paid traffic, repetitive clicking, etc. However, if a domain has a reason to have traffic then these stats are generally helpful. For example, UKSprite.com used to be a search engine. It’s traffic appears to be residual link and type-in traffic from the old site.
Current auctions that have three bars include ThisMorning.org (18,197 visitors), Webn.de (4,787 visitors), F58.com (web site with over 100,000 visitors), Sarkisozu.net (5,649 visitors), 0le.es (5,820 visitors), and Busca.com (5,699 visitors, high bid 101,000 EUR with reserve not met).
