Oversee.net, parent company of DomainSponsor, is buying domain portfolios.
The company announced this week that it acquired a portfolio of 35,000 domains. That’s great for the seller, but what about you? It turns out Oversee.net is looking to buy additional domain portfolios. I asked Ron Sheridan of Oversee.net (and DomainSponsor fame) about how you can sell your portfolio:
DNW: Is Oversee.net actively seeking to purchase more domain portfolios?
Sheridan: Absolutely – We have partnered with some leading financial institutions that understand this business and they have agreed to support and finance our domain buying activities. This means we have an almost unlimited capacity to do these deals, and we plan to be very aggressive.
DNW: What is the minimum amount of traffic/revenue or number of domains for Oversee.net to be interested in purchasing a portfolio?
Sheridan: At present there are no minimums – but the real small deals will take longer as we need to focus on the ones that move the meter.
DNW: Can people submit their portfolios to Oversee.net to receive an offer?
Sheridan: YES – best to contact myself to get the dialogue started – we can then request the information we need
DNW: What are some example domains from this purchase of 35,000 domains?
Sheridan: Sorry – we are not releasing details about this purchase. The seller has requested confidentiallity and we intend to respect that.
