Tool makes it easy to find geo-related domains (and more).
Every once in a while a new domain tool comes out and you don’t get around to using it. The buzz subsides and you never realize what you’ve missed.
That’s what happened to me with NameTumbler, a free tool from WhyPark. You see, I’m a closet geo domainer. I’ve been buying city/state____.com domains for a couple years. To find available domains I created a spreadsheet of top cities and all 50 states, and then used the concatenate function to append keywords to the locations. For example, I enter “cars” into one box, and it creates a list of all 50 state names such as AlabamaCars.com, AlaskaCars.com, etc.
I was getting ready to clean up that spreadsheet and share it with readers when I was reminded of NameTumbler. NameTumbler creates this list for you without the hassle of spreadsheets. Just enter a keyword and what you want to combine it with (e.g., city, state) and if the city or state should be before or after the term. Hit the “Create List” button and you have your list. Now just do a bulk domain check to see what’s available.
NameTumbler goes beyond geos. You can also append lists of nationalities, nouns, computer words, and more with any keyword you use. In fact, if you register non-.com domains you can do searches without adding your own keyword to see which short words are still available.
