Service helps you find good expiring domains.
Expired domain catchers sift through reams of data to find the best expiring domains. Over the past couple months I’ve been test driving what may be the best data source for finding high quality expiring domains for the price: FreshDrop.
FreshDrop provides a searchable, easy-to-use interface for finding domains that meet your criteria. Looking for domains on TDNAM in Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Pinyin, Turkish, or Italian? Two clicks gets your there. Looking for four character domains or geo domains? Again, two clicks.
For each domain, FreshDrop gives a wealth of data. Among the more valuable data are Yahoo and DMOZ listings, Google search results, Google indexing, number of archive.org caches, and Alexa. It also shows the number of links from .edu and .gov domains, which are good for search engine indexing. (Note that this backlink data is the same data you pay $20-$40 for per domain at ShoeMoney Tools.) Another good feature: the number of domains in other extensions registered for the domain’s keyword.
Much of the data on FreshDrop is free. You can see most data for GoDaddy, Fabulous, Sedo auctions, and eBay domains for free. You can also see data on readily available domains for free. The same data is available with a $32.95 PRO subscription for Afternic, Pool, NameJet, and SnapNames. PRO subscriptions come with a free 10 day trial. Also, with a PRO subscription you get more data on domains including Google search estimates and ad click prices.
Regardless of your data source for expired domains, FreshDrop is worth a look.

Thanks! Just picked up a killer name. I had been using justdropped.com but this is much easier to use.
Just drop is good for finding domains that are going to drop in the next 7 days through.

Nice write-up.

Troy,
Glad that you like FreshDrop. We have a data feed called ‘Reg Fee’ which lists domain names that have been made recently available due to drops. The length of time that we scan domains in there is 15 days. So if it has dropped since 15 days ago and is available for registration, then it would be listed in that section.

This is the coolest tool I’ve seen come out in the last 6 months. I know some other companies have been working on similar ideas but the speed and filtering options FreshDrop offers are very impressive for an auction and drop aggregator.

Gee, it would be a grand celebration for Freshdrop if traffic and other data on a domain would actually convert to PPC revenue or other valuable conversion methods based on direct navigation. But, hasn’t the value of parking a domain dropped over 50% since a year ago? This information is almost moot now.
The most important value in a domain today is its keyword viability and your efforts to create a sticky brand from it. PPC is still holding on for dear life, but SE traffic is the key, and that’s going to come from your content, not necessarily from your domain. (This is not to address the 10,000 one word naturals that are already purchased and unavailable, or available for $1million +)
Maybe I’m missing something, or just trying to stir the pot. I’m checking out the site anyways!!! lol

Stephen,
Great comments. I think strictly speaking from a ppc domainers perspective you do have valid points.
What makes FreshDrop so powerful is that it provides numerous analytics for all types of necessities to a wide range of domain purchasers.
Visitors with an seo perspective in mind love the fact that we have analytics on page rank, domain age, directory listings, and backlinks because they know that the a domain will list higher with google with these characteristics straight off the bat!
Visitors coming from a affiliate background appreciate the analytics that may determine higher traffic that may convert into affiliate commission sales.. since many of these domains are recently dropped and still have a good deal of residual traffic.
Domainers appreciate the fast and accurate searches for keyword, keyphrase, or niche specific domain names. Just the other day, i purchased a domain from FreshDrop that within 3 days i had a $1000 offer on.
The fact of the matter is, if one is in the internet industry and looking to purchase a domain name, there is no other platform that comes close in matching the ease of use and rich powerful tools at your fingertips to purchase an aftermarket or deleting domain name.
Hope this helps and I do hope that you get to enjoy FreshDrop as much as the thousands of other members using the site daily.

Hi Tan,
Very nice answer, and all your points are well-taken. I’m looking at your site and considering it as a part of my own and my client domain analysis process.
Much success to you!

@ Stephen – I have to confirm that from an SEO perspective, it would be nice to pick up a site that already has incoming links…especially from government/edu domains.
Stephen Douglas says
Yep, that’s an observation I wanted to see stated before I spent a half hour perusing the site. You are absolutely correct and Tan answered perfectly.
SEGUE: Your statement also goes to the theory that .org domains are the second most valuable domains from a “public recognition” factor, because so many “educational/govt/charitable” sites use and promote their .org domain names.
