The Fish.com sale was the big announcement this week. DNJournal is reporting that the actual sale amount for the domain was $1,020,000. Not bad!
But even without Fish.com this would have been a heck of a week for domain sales. The one that shocks me is an expired domain that was auctioned for $135,250: MyPremierCard.com. I wonder who let that one drop? Mathematics.com changed hands for $135,000. A nice 3 letter domain, JMM.com sold for $55,000 at Sedo. Another 3 letter domain, AOS.com, sold for $50,000.
I was in the process of buying a 3 character .com this week when I discovered that the domain was stolen. I’ll write about that adventure and how I investigated it in the near future.
iTrain.com sold for $20,300. I’m still a believer and “i-” and “e-” domains, which were all the rage during the dot.com boom. I got a great deal on iInk.com earlier this year and think this one has lots of potential given the high PPC prices for ink cartridges. Afternic moved a few “i-” and “e-” domains over the past couple days for around $1,000: iMinerals.com, eCalcium.com, and iSnacks.com.
DNJournal also reports that new TLD domain sales are strong. SantaClaus.info led the charts at €10,500. Blogging.info sold for $2,000. I purchased Blogs.info for $3,000 this week, and that one should be reported at DNJournal next week.
Apparently the holiday mood is hitting domain name buyers–and they have long wish lists!
