One of the biggest domain scammers, Domain Registry Services, will eventually run into the law.
Domain Registry Services is known for sending out misleading notices such as:
FINAL NOTICE OF DOMAIN EXTENSION.
yourdomain.us “has now become available for registration. Consequently the possibility of conflicting domain name registrations may occur.”
REGARDING: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY NOTIFICATION PROCESS and

You are required to advice the notification processor of your intent to license this domain name…
They are also known for calling people based on information mined from Whois to try to get your fax number. Yesterday they called my home phone number no fewer than 7 times.
There are a few things you can do to fight back. First, if you receive a call to your home phone number then the company then the company is violating the National Do Not Call registry (if you have registered for it). Click here to file a complaint. Be sure to note the company’s phone number, 800-591-7398. The company will claim it isn’t selling anything, but we all know the truth.
The second is to give them the fax number of New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer. Domain Registry Support would end up faxing evidence of their scam directly to the gunslinger himself! 🙂
