Dozens of domain names registered about…a chair.
Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republican National Convention last Thursday gave 24 hour news networks and election watchers something to talk about for the next few days.
And it once again showed that when there’s news, there will be domain name registrations.
On the evening of Eastwood’s speech, in which he pretended Barack Obama was sitting in an empty chair next to him on stage, a California man jumped on Go Daddy and registered emptychairobama.com (along with the hyphenated version).
The next day a flood of “empty chair” registrations were made:
clintschair.com
emptychairparty.com
emptychairtv.com
officialemptychair.com
presidentialchair.com
talkedtothechair.com
talkingtothechair.com
talktothechair.com
theofficialemptychair.com
voteforthechair.com
votechair.com
eastwoodschair.com
invisibleobamachair.com
keepthechair.com
obamaemptychair.com
obamaschair.com
clinteastwoodschair.com
debatethechair.com
News of the speech continued to make the rounds the following day. Here are registrations from September 1:
Fill-The-Chair.com
FilltheChair.com
Chair2016.com
TheChair2012.com
TheChairForPresident.com
ObamasEmptyChair.com
ObamaTheEmptyChair.com
Chair4President.com
EastwoodChair2012.com
EastwoodChairs.com
WestwoodChair.com
EmptyChair2012.com
RepealObamChair.com
Of course, the simplest domain about the now infamous chair was registered long ago.
Who would have thought that domain names about chairs would become so popular?
Gypsum Fantastic says
How about TheChairWithNoName.com?
MG says
Pigeon shit on everyone of ’em.
Kevin M. says
And next year when they’re all dropped, will just add further proof that the ‘real’ money in domains – is in being a registrar!

Agreed, Funny all the other Tlds and cctlds are not snapped up ! When are people going to learn that Development is the only way to make traffic and money with Domains?
DNQ says
I registered “ClintEastwoodSpeech.com” and
it’s been making $10 per day on my ppc.
But yes, I’ll let it expire next year most
likely. I’m pretty happy with the registration though.
DNQ says
I will add that I registered ObamasChair.com
and ClintsChair.com and those aren’t making
money. I went for the “speech” domains first
because I felt people were more likely to type
that keyword in than “chair”.

I registered HillarysShovel.
