Auction one of the highest on site for a long time.
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to write about an exciting auction over at Afternic, but the aftermarket has snagged one with October.com. The domain has a $16,000 bid and an auction has started. It will conclude next Saturday.
October.com’s whois record has had privacy protection since 2006. The last public whois record for the domain name showed Acronym Media, Inc. as the owner.
Afternic has had plenty of auctions since it took on Melbourne IT and Tucows expiring domain inventory, but nothing truly notable has come across the finish line. (The October.com auction is not an expired domain.)
Meanwhile, Sedo’s auctions continue to buzz. That’s thanks in part to the latest GreatDomains auction that ends on October 23.
One of the GreatDomains auctions that looks promising is Islas.com, which is currently 27,000 EUR. The reserve range is between 25,000 EUR and 50,000 EUR, so it looks like some bidders are flirting with the reserve. [Update: the domain now shows a 5,000 EUR high bid, so there was an error or fraudulent bid.]
EHA.com, another GreatDomains auction, has met its reserve and is at $10,099 at the time of writing.
