5 simple ways to make more money at Parked.
When it comes to ease-of-use, Parked.com is a clear winner in domain name parking. Even its domain editing tools are simple and quick to use. If you haven’t yet edited your domains there, here are five simple ways to tweak your way to more profits.
1. Remove unrelated keywords – having several keywords unrelated to your site’s topic can kill click-through rates. So when the algorithms get it wrong, it’s time to step in manually. Thankfully, Parked makes is a snap. Just drag and drop the keywords you don’t want into “Removed Keywords”. Parked uses a lot of Ajax, which makes its domain management tools a lot like software.
2. Update your title – by default, Parked makes the title of your page the domain name. So when someone lands on chiefsecurityofficer.com, the title they see is chiefsecurityofficer.com. Not that compelling. At a minimum, change it to “Chief Security Officer”.
3. Add custom content (but be careful) – you can quickly add text and extra graphics to the bottom of your Parked pages. This can help get into search engines. But be careful. People who add clickable links such as affiliate banners on their pages have reported their PPC click-through rates plummeting.
4. Customize your graphics – Parked has thousands of graphics for your landing pages. But if you don’t find one that quite fits your topic, just upload it yourself (be sure you have rights to the picture). You can also tweak the lander’s colors. If your domain is about sports in St. Louis, you might try colors like red (for the Cardinals) and blue (for the Blues).
5. Ask your account manager for help – if you have high traffic domains that aren’t converting, don’t be shy about asking your account manager for optimization help. It’s in their best interests.
If you have additional suggestions, please comment.

Parked.com is the best company by far. I am very happy with them. I had all of my domains parked with them since day one. Their customer support team is superb and its very easy to customize their pages as well.
Andrew says
@ Eugene – Parked certainly has a strong fan base. And Donny does a great job keeping everyone informed. One thing I like about them is the simplicity of adding and managing domains.
DomainDragon says
Are all your articles advertisements? This fluff piece sure sounds like one.
If you have a good domain you can park it anywhere and it will generate revenue. The key is finding a company that is upfront with their revenue sharing.

Thanks for the tips! I just started with Parked and have not heard from my acct. manager after emailing him. I will send him another e-mail..
Andrew says
@ DomainDragon – I think anyone who has read this site for a long time knows it is nothing about fluff. Just because and article tells you how to use a service doesn’t make it fluff.

Just the suggestion about editing the title was worth the price of admission. I have to admit that when I got on Parked to upload my sites I didn’t pay attention to “edit title” and just ended up rewriting my domains by using capitals to split up words. So highlimitroom.com was changed to HighLimitRoom.com. After reading your post I realize I now need to go back and edit all my titles! If it weren’t for you pointing it out I would have a title that is my domain url not “High Limit Room”.
I appreciate the help.

Agree completely. Big fan of parked.com. I wish more companies had such user friendly interface.

Parked is indeed fabulous. (And I love Fabulous too!) As a guy who has tried the majority of parking companies, I can say without a doubt that Parked.com is top-notch.
mike says
Parked interface is a joy.
Andrew says
@ Kelly – of course, the price of admission is zero, so I had a low bar to clear 🙂
Seriously though, I’m glad you found this helpful.

I tend to question the integrity of an article like this when your affiliate ID is included in the link to Parked.com. You’ve even used some javascript so the affiliate ID doesn’t show up in the browser status bar.
I really like your site, just had to chuckle.
Andrew says
Foo,
As described in the ‘about’ section, I use affiliate links when a company has an affiliate program. I’m not using Javascript to hide that fact; I use a plugin that automatically converts certain words to links. It does this on links that aren’t affiliate links as well, if they are used commonly on the site.
Ramiro says
Parked.com is excellent! I’ve been very pleased with their customer service.
Andrew says
@ Foo – FYI to clear up any concern, I’ve added (aff) tags to any auto-generated links on the site that are affiliate links. These tags show up whenever you hover over the link.

I use a variety of parking companies and continue to see the best results with parked.

I had a revenue for one day at 1.34 USD two days ago for that day, today it has dropped to .44 cents? How can revenue from a past day go lower?
Yes, I’m referring to Parked.com
Andrew says
@ Corvaire, perhaps you are saying this tounge-in-cheek, but I don’t think you have a big enough sample size 🙂
Corvaire says
hmm, why so? Does it really matter the amount? It actually just dropped to 32 cents after this post, so what ever amount I’m using as an example, I have lost over 75% of my revenue for that day.
I was posting here in hopes that someone skilled in utilizing Parked.com would/could explain how this is possable?
I’m new to Parked.com, and currently testing with a little over 100 of my domains. So far, even though it’s only been 4 days, has got me a bit paranoid in results of dropping revenue of past earnings.
Does anyone here know how this could be possable? Anyone else experience this?
Andrew says
@ Corvaire – Are you saying that your revenue was posted at $1.34 for one day, and then later it was adjusted to $.44? The dates with asterisks next to them are just estimates. They don’t get the actual revenue data for a couple days.
Corvaire says
Yes, the asterisks was confirmed by my “Acct. Manager”, so I asked how long it Should take:
——–
“The final report is received from our provider the following day unless
they have any delays on their end. So the estimated stats that are being
calculated for today should be finalized tomorrow. Once the asterisk (*)
is removed, the stats have been finalized and updated.”
———
O.k., I’ll buy that.. but why would it go from the 44 cents to 32 cents in one day?.. with no asterisks present.
Keep in mind, this is two days after the initial “predicted earnings.”
And.. my stats are twice that of theres showing, and mine are “unique” not just “hits.”
My suggestion would be to make screen shots directly after the “asterisks” have been removed. I know I will be. ;O)-
